How Freshh protects you

Plain words, no fine print.

Just open it and go

Checking a look never asks for your name, email, phone number, birthday or location. There are no Freshh accounts and no passwords.

Freshh+ payments

Freshh+ is sold through Stripe, a payment processor. At checkout Stripe asks for an email address for your receipt and creates a customer record on its own systems; Freshh never receives or stores your card details. Stripe tells Freshh only that a subscription is active, and Freshh keeps a signed pass on your device, not your email. So that a website member stays signed in even when a browser clears a site's stored data (iPhone Safari does this after 7 days without a visit), Freshh's own server also keeps that same signed pass in one small cookie on your device. It holds no name, email or payment details, is sent only to Freshh's membership check, is never used for ads, counting or tracking, and cancelling Freshh+ ends it. To restore Freshh+ on another device, enter your checkout email. We email you a one-time code to confirm it’s you. Freshh does not store your email. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what it holds. You can cancel anytime and keep Freshh+ until the end of the period you paid for. In the iPhone app, Freshh+ is sold through Apple's App Store instead: Apple handles the payment and tells Freshh only whether a plan is active and when it renews, and Freshh never sees your card or Apple Account details. In the Android app, Freshh+ is sold through Google Play instead: Google handles the payment and tells Freshh only whether a plan is active and when it renews, and Freshh never sees your card or Google Account details.

Your photo is deleted right after your check

Your photo is sent over an encrypted connection to be checked, and it exists on our server only for the few seconds that takes. It is never written to storage or logs. On your device it is held in memory while you read your results, then erased the moment you leave the screen or tap Delete photo now. The check runs on the servers of Cloudflare, which hosts Freshh.

Hidden photo details stay on your phone

Before a photo is sent, Freshh removes the hidden details cameras attach to it, such as location, device and time.

Checked, then erased

Not on our servers and not on your device. Each look in Looks keeps your score, your tips and a color card. It never keeps the photo.

Encrypted on your device

Your scores and tips stay on your device, locked with AES-256 encryption using a key that never leaves your browser. If a browser cannot lock data safely, Freshh saves nothing at all.

Ads that respect your privacy

On the website and in the Android app, Freshh is supported by a few sponsor cards. They are placed by Freshh itself, with no ad networks, no cookies and no tracking, and they are the same for everyone. In the iPhone app, people without Freshh+ may see one banner ad from Google AdMob, as described under Who helps run Freshh below. Ads never affect a score, and Freshh+ removes them.

Safe for every age

Every photo passes three safety layers: a separate screen before any styling happens, strict rules inside the style engine, and a plain word filter on everything sent back. Freshh only accepts photos of fully dressed people, keeps every word kind, is gentler with younger people, and is for checking your own look. Photos of young children get a friendly note and no score. It is never for rating someone else.

Feedback about the look itself

Freshh rates things you can change, such as hair, fit, color and outfit. It never rates bodies or faces, at any age.

Simple, anonymous counts

To improve the app we count how many times things happen, such as how many checks were run today. A count is an event name and a date. It holds no ID, no cookie and no address, and it is skipped entirely if your browser asks not to be tracked. If something goes wrong on your phone, the app may also send an anonymous error note so it can be fixed: what failed, the app version, and the browser and phone type. It never includes a photo, anything you typed, an ID or an address, and it follows the same do-not-track and privacy-control choices. To stop abuse, the server briefly keeps a scrambled daily code for each network, which cannot be turned back into an address and expires within a day. To keep the free plan's daily limit fair, the app also holds a random allowance code the server gives it; it names nobody and is not taken from your phone, and the server keeps only a scrambled count of checks per code for about a day. Delete my looks and history erases your scores, awards and photos, but keeps this anonymous code and today's count, so the free limit stays fair, and keeps your Freshh+ pass and settings, so you never have to restore or set up again. In the iPhone app, the code is also kept in the phone's secure keychain, on that phone only, so it stays after reinstalling. So that one phone cannot collect extra free checks by switching browsers or apps, the server also keeps a scrambled count of checks for a broad type of phone (its system, screen size, time zone, language and display settings such as dark mode and text size) on each network, for about a day. It names nobody, is never used for ads or tracking, and cannot be traced back to you. Counts are kept for 120 days and error notes for 30 days, then deleted automatically.

Rating sets

To keep scores fair, Freshh sometimes asks volunteers to rate sample outfit photos from 1 to 10. Those sample photos are chosen by Freshh and used only with the permission of the person pictured. They never come from anyone's check. They are kept for 60 days and then deleted, along with the anonymous ratings.

A bot check that stays out of your way

To keep Freshh quick for real people, each check passes Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible check that the request comes from a person rather than a script. You never see a puzzle. Freshh receives only a pass or fail from it, and it is never used for ads.

Who helps run Freshh

Cloudflare hosts Freshh. It serves the app, runs the style engine that checks your photo, keeps the anonymous counts and error notes described above, runs the bot check, and emails restore codes. Stripe handles Freshh+ payments on the website, Apple's App Store handles them in the iPhone app, and Google Play handles them in the Android app. Apple's App Store and Google Play deliver the phone apps under their own privacy policies. In the Freshh iPhone app, people without Freshh+ may see one banner ad from Google AdMob on the scanning screen. Your photo is never shared with AdMob or any ad company. To show and measure ads, Google may use information such as your device type, app information and approximate location, and where the law requires it, Freshh asks for your consent first. You can change your choice anytime under Privacy choices in the app. Freshh does not ask to track you across other apps, so ads do not use Apple's advertising identifier. Learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Freshh uses no analytics companies.

How long things are kept

Your internet address

Like every website, Freshh's host, Cloudflare, handles your device's internet address to deliver pages and to protect the service from abuse, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Freshh's own records never store it.

Where your data is handled

Cloudflare runs a worldwide network, so a check may be handled on servers outside your country. Encrypted connections protect everything on the way.

Shopping links

Some recommendations link to a store. Freshh may earn a commission if you buy. We send the store no information about you.

Sharing is your call

Freshh makes a score card and hands it to your phone's share menu. It never asks for social media logins and never posts for you. Your photo is left off the card unless you switch it on. Once you share a card, it lives on the app you shared it to. If you tap Share to X or Facebook, their website opens with the words you are sharing, and their privacy policies apply from there.

The camera stays in your hands

The built-in camera runs only while the camera screen is open, and it turns off the moment you take the photo or leave.

Young people's privacy

Freshh is for ages 13 and up and is not directed to children under 13. It has no accounts and asks for no names, emails or birth dates. Photos that show young children get a friendly note and no score. If you believe a child under 13 has used Freshh, email [email protected].

You are in control

Delete my looks and history, in Me, erases your scores and awards on your device in one tap, and keeps only your Freshh+ pass, your settings and the anonymous allowance code (step by step: delete your Freshh data). If your browser or phone sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the anonymous counts and error notes are skipped. Because Freshh keeps nothing linked to you, there is no profile to look up, correct or delete. For a Freshh+ payment record, contact Stripe, Apple or Google, or email us. You can ask any privacy question or make a privacy request at [email protected].
